A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

Dorethe Nielsen
Vice President of Corporate Environmental Strategy, Novo Nordisk
Dorethe is Vice President of Corporate Environmental Strategy where she oversees the company’s environmental strategy, “Circular for Zero”, aiming for zero environmental impact. As part of her role, she manages corporate-driven programs, stakeholder engagements, and development and implementation of Novo Nordisk’s strategic climate and environmental initiatives.
Since 2000, Dorethe has held several managerial positions within the Novo Group, including a 3-year assignment in Shanghai, China, Head of EHS for Novo Nordisk production sites, and latest as VP in Novo Nordisk’s Corporate Affairs division.
Dorethe has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. She is a graduate of the Harvard Business School of Global Strategic Management and the CISL’s Business and Sustainability Programme in Cambridge.
