Dr. Harvey Locke

Vice Chair for Nature Positive, IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas and Y2Y

Dr. Harvey Locke is a nature conservationist, writer, and photographer who is a recognized global leader in the field of parks, large landscape conservation and the interface between nature and the climate. He is co-founder of the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative and the global Nature Needs Half Movement and is Vice Chair for Nature Positive of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas. He received an Honourary Doctorate from the University of Calgary and is a Fellow of both the China Institute at the University of Alberta and the Royal Canadian Geographic Society. He is currently leading a project on private sector financing of intact nature for nature and biodiversity outcomes.
