A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

Hans Sauter
Chief Sustainability Officer, Fresh Del Monte
Mr. Sauter serves as the Chief Sustainability Office and Senior Vice President, Corporate R&D, QA, and Agricultural Services at Fresh Del Monte, positions he has held since 2020 and 2014 respectively.
Prior to these roles, Mr. Sauter worked for 25 years in different research and technical support functions in Fresh Del Monte’s operations in tropical Latin America, playing a leading role in the innovation of pineapple varieties and production practices.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sauter has continuously worked to harmonize agriculture production and biodiversity conservation. As Fresh Del Monte’s CSO, Mr. Sauter has led the company to take a leading role in the transformation of large-scale agriculture, sharing its views at 2021’s New York Climate Week, COP27, and Greenbiz 2022 among others.
Mr. Sauter completed graduate work in entomology at the University of California, Davis, emphasizing biological control and integrated pest management.
