A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

Fabíola Marono Zerbini
Director of the Forestry Department, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change
Lawyer, PhD in Political and Environmental Science from PROCAM/USP. She is currently Director of the Forestry Department of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Secretariat of Biodiversity, Forests and Animal Rights, where she leads the agenda for the recovery of native vegetation and forest management. Before that, she served for 20 years in leadership positions in the forestry agenda, such as: Director of Forests, Land Use and Agriculture at WRI Brasil; Latin American Director of TFA – Tropical Forest Alliance, hosted by the World Economic Forum, on the agenda of zero deforestation associated with the production of commodities, Director of FSC Brazil – Forest Stewardship Council. Before his more focused work in the forestry sector, he worked on the solidarity economy and fair trade agendas, in organizations such as FACES do Brasil and Instituto Kairós.
