A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

Minister Joyelle Clarke

Dr. Joyelle Clarke is a dedicated environmentalist and biodiversity conservation advocate. As an educator, she played a key role in the successful coordination of environmental programs on recycling, climate action, conservation and education for sustainable development. As a public servant, she developed projects to fuel local, community-based climate work especially among women in rural areas. Through her passion for sustainability, years of experience and spirit of volunteerism, Joyelle has advised and mentored with leading non-governmental organizations such as the Global Fund for Women (GFW), Women Empowering Girls (WEG), and GirlsCARE JA. She currently serves as an appointed Member of Parliament as Minister with responsibilities for Sustainable Development, Environment, Climate Action, Constituency Empowerment along with the Parks and Beaches Unit and the Solid Waste Management Corporation, a portfolio directly aligned with her training and lifelong work.
