A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

Felipe Ortega Schlingmann

Dr Felipe ORTEGA SCHLINGMANN
Felipe Ortega Schlingmann is Head of Division in the Bioeconomy Division within the Projects Directorate of the European Investment Bank. This Division is responsible to provide support to the operational units in the technical, economic, environmental and social due diligence of the investment proposals. It also defines the sectorial lending strategies and policies and establishes the financing eligibilities in the sectors relevant for the Division based on the Banks priority lending objectives.
Felipe Ortega, a Spanish and German, national studied Agricultural Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He holds a Ph.D in Agronomy by the University of Bonn and an MBA by IESE-Universidad de Navarra. Before joining the EIB, Felipe Ortega worked for more than 15 years in agricultural, microbiological and chemical research, development and innovation both in the public and the private sector. He served in several positions overseeing and managing technical activities at E.I. DuPont de Nemours, Inc. in its Agricultural Products Division.
